Beef Sausage Baguette & Salad

beef sausage

This week we set out to turn the iconic Aussie snack that we endearingly refer to as a “snag in bread” into a nutritious and delicious family meal.

The first and most vital step is securing your gourmet beef sausages.

Our gourmet thick beef sausages utilise natural casings filled with quality meat and are free from wheat-based fillers (making them gluten-free).

As opposed to a 24-pack of Woolworth's sausages you might chuck on the barbie every now and then, our no-nasties sausages are healthier and more suitable for regular consumption.

Pair them up with some crusty sourdough baguettes from one of Geelong's epic local bakeries and a leafy green salad that’s the perfect balance of salty and sweet, and you’ve got yourself a cracking midweek meal.

Preperation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 Mini Crusty Baguette Rolls (or a full-size baguette cut into 4)
  • 4 Gourmet Thick Beef Sausages From A Cut Above Family Butcher
  • 150 Grams Of Rocket
  • 1 Pear
  • Goats Cheese (to taste)
  • Parmesan (to taste)
  • Extra virgin olive oil & Balsamic Glaze (to dress)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Cooking Method

  1. Wash the rocket and place it in a large salad bowl. Finely slice and add your pear. Crumble your goat cheese and finely grate or peel as much parmesan as you would like on top of your salad. Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze over your salad and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Heat a large oiled pan (or BBQ) to a high heat and place in sausages. Turn sausages every 2-3 minutes until evenly coloured and cooked through.
  3. Warm your baguettes in a low-heated oven and cut them in half and place sausages and desired sauces inside.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
