Boneless Rolled Pork Leg Roast
A boneless piece of tender & juicy rolled pork leg, netted and strung. This pork roast is a lean cut with lots of flavour.
If not confident in cooking pork best to try a Rolled Pork Shoulder instead. If overcooked the leg can dry out very easily. Where as the shoulder will stay juicy as it contains more fat.
To get the best crackling, turn your oven up as high as you can (or roughly 200°c) for 20 minutes, then turning the temperature down to 180ºc for the duration of the cooking time. This will vary depending on the weight of the roast.
Temp – Pre heat oven to 200º Fan forced.
Make sure crackle is dry, pat dry with paper towel if needed. then add salt and oil.
Cook roast at 200 for 20-30 minutes or until rind crackles. Then reduce heat to 180 and cook for 1 hour per kg.
Remove from oven and rest for 10 – 15 mins covered with foil. Then carve and serve
